All students in grades one through eight participate in the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) Comprehensive Testing Program, or CTP4, a standardized achievement test designed specifically for independent schools.
In addition, all students in grades three through eight participate in the Writing Assessment Program, or WrAP test, which is scored analytically and can help target writing instruction.
Average Scores on the ERB test for the 2006–2007 school year indicate that Sea Crest students in grades 1–8 performed above the 90th percentile in all areas of the test when compared to the national norm. In comparison to the suburban norm, Sea Crest students performed at or above the 90th percentile in verbal reasoning, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing mechanics, concepts and skills, and math computation. In addition, middle school students demonstrated outstanding strength at or above the 90th percentile in Algebra 1 and Quantitative Reasoning. The WrAP test also indicated that Sea Crest students’ writing capabilities are on par or above those when compared nationally.
