why give?

The true measure of the health of an independent school is the level of engagement of its constituents—from students to trustees. And, in keeping with its guiding principal of “We are each others keepers”, Sea Crest has a long-standing tradition of charitable giving and volunteerism essential to its financial health and vitality.

By giving to Sea Crest School you show that you support the school, its values, and the high quality of education the students receive.

It is our ongoing goal to encourage wide community ownership and investment in Sea Crest. Unlike public schools, which receive tax revenue, independent schools such as Sea Crest rely on philanthropic support to meet the school's annual operating expenses and to make improvements to our program and facilities.

Vital to the day-to-day operations of the school, Annual-Fund dollars also help Sea Crest School attract and retain excellent teachers, make a Sea Crest education available to more students, enhance programs and technology, and improve facilities. Every year, Sea Crest receives generous donations from parents, Trustees, faculty and staff, grandparents and friends, as well as foundations and corporations.

Donations from the immediate Sea Crest community are important beyond the actual dollars contributed because strong participation in the Annual Fund often positively influences contributions from foundations and corporations. We sincerely appreciate each gift and the spirit that such generosity fosters in our community.
