middle school admissions
Since students approaching, or already in, Middle School play a primary role in choosing their school, we expect them to play a significant role in the application process. Therefore, students applying to grades 6–8 are asked to answer, in their own handwriting, short essay questions found on the application, and be an active participant while on campus during the "shadow visit".
As with Lower School, Middle School students will also spend a full day on campus with a Middle School student. Students entering 7th or 8th grades will follow their host's schedule for the day. Students applying to 6th grade may choose to spend the day in that grade seeing what a middle school day is like, or visit a 5th grade classroom and have the opportunity to meet and work with potential classmates. Students will be assessed for both academic and social readiness so that they can find success in Sea Crest’s Middle School.
