Sea Crest is excited about entering its second decade with a full and enthusiastic administration in place. Our growth in this area means we now have the manpower to focus on the big picture and still manage the day-to-day tasks of running the school.

bruce pollock, head of school

bruce pollockAt Sea Crest since July 2006, Bruce began his career in education upon graduating from Stanford University with a B.A. in International Relations and a M.A. in Education. He taught in Palo Alto, Italy, and Sherman Oaks, before working at Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough from 1989–1998. Immediately prior to coming to Sea Crest, he spent eight years in Massachusetts where he was the Head of Upper School at Bancroft School in Worcester and a Development Associate at Applewild School in Fitchburg.

michelle giacotto, curriculum and instruction

michelle giacottoPart of Sea Crest School since 1998, Michelle began her teaching career in San Bruno and then taught Kindergarten at Sea Crest for three years before starting a family in 2001. She continued to serve the school in a variety of part-time positions, including consulting in the area of literacy. She has been in her present position since 2007, guiding the faculty in school-wide curriculum articulation and teaching methodologies. Michelle earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, Hayward, and her multiple subject teaching credential with CLAD emphasis from Notre Dame de Namur.

allison dobbrow, admissions and development

allison dobbrow Allison had a long history with Sea Crest as both a parent and volunteer prior to joining the staff in 2005. Her extensive knowledge of Sea Crest and the local community afforded her a smooth transition into the Admissions and Development role in 2009. Allison received a multiple-subject teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur in 2004, and did her student teaching in the Cabrillo Unified School District. Before turning her love of teaching into a career, Allison practiced law in the Bay Area. Allison holds both a J.D. and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Santa Clara.

kelly spaeth, business manager

kelly spaethAt Sea Crest since early 2009, Kelly became Business Manager in January, 2010. Kelly ran her own accounting business prior to joining Sea Crest. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University and her M.B.A. from UC Davis.

cathy greenwald, office manager

cathy greenwaldCathy has led the office staff at Sea Crest since her arrival in 2000. Prior to that, Cathy was a swim instructor at La Petite Baleen in Half Moon Bay for five years. Previously, she worked in administration at the Wilkinson School in El Granada and served as an office manager for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

kathryn gray, learning support specialist

kathryn grayPrior to joining Sea Crest in 2006, Kathryn was a Special Day Class Teacher in the San Mateo and Palo Alto school districts. She was responsible for curriculum development, IEP administration, and collaboration with support personnel, speech and language pathologists and occupational therapists. At Sea Crest, Kathryn assists the classroom teachers with students who have identified learning needs. She earned her Master's Degree in Special Education from Santa Clara University, and also holds an A.B. degree in English and Comparative Literary Studies from Occidental College.

janicee forchini, director of after school care

janicee forchiniPrior to joining Sea Crest in August 2006, Janicee directed the extended day childcare program at Juana Briones Elementary School in Palo Alto. She has spent her entire professional career in the non-profit world after earning her B.S. in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University.
